As of 9/1/2019, the ABNS will assumed daily operational duties for the CAST Accreditation Fellowship programs pathway. The CAST committee will continue to make the decision regarding program accreditation with NESAC providing advice specific to program applications for Neuroendovascular surgery fellowship programs.
CAST offers accreditation of fellowship programs in the following subspecialties:
- Neurosurgery of the Spine
- Neurocritical Care
- CNS- Endovascular surgery
- Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery
- NeuroOncology
- Neurosurgery of the Peripheral Nerve
- Stereotactic & Functional Neurosurgery
- Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowships

Applications can be worked on at any time throughout the year. CAST will continue to review applications twice yearly; once in the spring and again the fall.
In order for an application to be reviewed this spring, a complete application must be submitted by March 31, 2021.

Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowships are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowships (ACPNF) and all pediatric neurosurgery fellowship accreditation decisions are made by the ACPNF.
