Applications

New Program Accreditation

Starting in 2023, CAST will have one application cycle per year for new applications to be submitted. Applications are required for any new programs. Effective March 2023, the yearly cycle to submit a new application will be January 1 – February 28th. Once the application is submitted, the program will find out the results during that spring, typically by mid-May. Please note that this is the only period during the calendar year that a new applications will be reviewed.

If you would like an application, you may email cast@abns.org or you may use this form with the request and one will be assigned. You will need to provide institutional case numbers in specific case categories for the most recent complete academic year. All applications are completed on the SMApply platform.

Application fees must be electronically and are paid online within the application.

Annual Report Applications

All CAST accredited fellowship programs are required to complete yearly annual report applications. The annual report application cycle is open yearly starting June 1st through July 31st. Programs are able to request a complement change and/or site change within the annual report application. Programs are able to self-assign an application during the application cycle on the SMApply platform. The annual report will require institutional cases numbers for the academic year ending regardless if there was a fellow during that year. If there was a fellow, those numbers will also be required.

The annual report when approved, will offer yearly continued accreditation. Five-year renewal applications (which were required in the past up until 2023) are no longer required. If a program does not submit an annual report as required, accreditation could be lost and a new program application will need to be submitted.
