Individual Certifications

As of September 2019 CAST no longer issues individual certifications

The CAST pathway for Individual Certification in CNS Endovascular Surgery and Neurocritical Care has transitioned to Recognition of Focused Practice Designation (RFPD) that is administered by the ABNS in collaboration with other ABMS boards.  Full details of the pathway to Recognition of Focused Practice is posted on the ABNS website which you can review using the links below.

The ABNS offers RFPs in Pediatric Neurological Surgery, Neurocritical Care and CNS Endovascular Surgery.

For those individuals with a CAST Certificate, the deadline to convert your CNS Endovascular or Neurocritical Care CAST Certificate to the RFPD credential has expired.

Please note that anyone that uses a CAST certificate as the needed subspecialty credential for CAST fellowship accreditation will only be able to do so through June 30, 2027.
